Why Using A Flat Fee Company is Different in Colorado
Colorado is what is know as a "Minimum Service State". What this means is that although you can list in most other states using a flat fee model, this is not permitted in Colorado. You are required, if advertising on the MLS, to have a listing contract with a real estate broker. If you Google Flat Fee or Discount Real Estate, you will find that there are many companies that advertise a Flat Fee service for an up-front fee. If you read further, you will discover that not only are you paying an up-front fee - you are paying an agent to handle the transaction (typically an out of state agent), paying additional charges for changes, signs, extra pictures - the list is endless.
